The Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan are the only minivans on the market with accident-avoidance safety features such as Rear Cross Path and Blind-spot Monitoring to warn drivers of oncoming vehicles that they might not see.

Chrysler Town & Country

Just in time for the spring “Minivan Event” at Chrysler dealerships, the new Chrysler Town & Country lineup – the premiere minivan to transport people and their belongings – just got better with 12 percent more standard horsepower and torque on the new 2010 Chrysler Town & Country LX model, while the new 2010 Chrysler Town & Country Touring “Plus” model is well equipped with an array of luxury appointments, entertainment features and safety equipment.

The Dodge Grand Caravan – the original family room on wheels with more than 26 years of unsurpassed leadership – offers customers two new performance-focused and tech-savvy minivan models, packaged with even more features that are designed to add value and meet the different lifestyle needs of every family. The 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan Hero is geared for young families seeking convenience, utility and affordability. With more power and an enhanced set of technology features, the Dodge Grand Caravan Crew model targets customers seeking the next-level performance, technology, style and value.

Following are just a few of the innovative features available that help keep customers protected in the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan.

Blind-spot Monitoring

Dual ultra-wideband radar sensors aid the driver when changing lanes or when being passed by or passing unseen vehicles. The system notifies the driver via illuminated icons on the side-view mirror and/or with a driver-selected audible chime.

Rear Cross Path (RCP)

In parking lot situations, RCP drivers backing out of parking spaces of traffic moving toward their vehicle. The driver is notified of vehicle(s) crossing behind the vehicle via an illuminated side view mirror icon and with an audible chime.

Parkview Rear Back-up Camera

Using a wide-angle view of the area immediately behind the vehicle, Parkview gives the driver greater peace of mind before backing up. It also aids in lining up a trailer to the vehicle’s trailer hitch, when so equipped. The image automatically displays on the navigation screen when the transmission is shifted into reverse.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC enhances driver control and helps maintain directional stability under all conditions. It provides the greatest benefit in critical driving situations such as turns, and is especially valuable when driving on mixed-surface conditions such as snow, ice or gravel. If there’s a discernible difference between what the driver asks through the steering wheel and the vehicle’s path, ESC applies selective braking and throttle input in order to guide the vehicle back onto the driver’s intended path.

SmartBeam^® headlamps

Intelligent headlamp system adjusts to ambient light and oncoming traffic in order to deliver maximum lighting.

Smart Brake

Chrysler Group began implementing the smart brake in 2003. When a disagreement exists between the throttle and the brake, the brake signal causes the engine controller to reduce engine power, allowing the operator to stop the car.
